Steve Gibson's DCOM checker (New!)

Most of us on the list know who Steve Gibson is, and most of us have tested our firewalls with his ShieldsUp! server.

I just saw a notice in the Langa Letter this morning that Steve has made available a tiny DCOM security tester that will verify that the Blaster patch actually blocked that vulnerabilty, and it offers other well-explained options, too. It's really small, runs very fast, and looks good. I never get enough assurance that my machine is secure, so I recommend this to all of you who are running XP or 2K.

Oh, and it's free.

My "new threada" have been rather spotty lately. Sometimes there, sometimes not. What was it in your case? I may have the same problem.

 

Yes i do know who "steve gibson" is. Thats why i'm steering well away from it!

mm, UPnP has no use whatsoever.. noo..... of course it doesnt ....

But anyway, it isnt time for a rant about GRC.com, it probably does the job okay so ill shut up now
