I have windows XP, 32 bit. Dual core with 4gb of ram but xp only read 3.

I have completed all the steps and in order.

I ran super antispyware a second time and I have noticed in my Norton firewall two programs for superantispyware that were allowed to access the internet.

One was what I think is the appropiate program. c:\programfiles\SUPERAntiSpyware\SUPERAntiSpyware.exe

The other which is new is.
    c:\programfiles\SUPERAntiSpyware\0d0c98ef-4660-4d63-941a-ee48rc650b80.exe.

I will wait for responce before attaching log and files which you may want/need to see.

    Thanks,
    rjburns

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

What malware problems do you need help with? Incorrect reports of amount of RAM is not a malware problem. Some software including Microsoft's own msinfo32 frequently reports the incorrect amount of RAM.

If you have malware problems, you should have already attached the requested logs and should have told us what malware problems you are having.

    Hi,

I understand RAM, I was just informing you of my system.

I still have issues with my startup manager, Google and others are getting flagged for run during startup.

I also have IP addresses constantly trying to log onto my system using stealth ports and unkown ports. Norton security suite has blocked all attempts that I know of but???

    Thanks for the quick responce.

I'm sorry but you will have to post any questions you have about managing your startup processes in the Software Forum. These are not topics for the Malware Removal Forum and we already gave you tips for Dealing with Startups in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.

This is normal firewall behavior and why you install a software firewall to protect you. ;)

Your logs are clean. The only problem I see is that you are running multiple antivirus programs and potentially multiple software firewalls. You have both Norton Security Suite and iolo technologies' System Mechanic Professional installed.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
