Still having issues

I would appreciate some assistance. I have read and followed all advice in the Read Me First tutorial. I run XP, SP2. The Kaspersky scan results from yesterday are attached and show 2 trojans and an exploit. Ad-Aware (log attached) found 16 issues. Microsoft's 2 scanners didn't find anything. Neither did Symantec. Panda (attached log) found Better Internet. I also attached BitDefender's log.

I have 2 main issues: 1) My browser frequently cannot connect. Resetting the router usually fixes this problem. However, the router (Netgear) allows 2 other computers to connect wirelessly and there are times when they can connect and I cannot. It seems that the longer the computer is on, the less likelihood I have of being able to connect. 2) The computer is slow. Logging into my account may take 2 or 3 minutes.

Finally, there are times when Word or other random programs will stop responding without any real reason.

I do run Ad-Aware and Norton scans regularly. Last night, I was finally able to download several Windows updates. I hadn't been able to sign onto their update site for at least 2 weeks because of Error 0x800A01AE. I was able to fix that problem with Windows on-line assistance.

Thank you for your assistance. :)

You did not follow the directions for making the BitDefender log a text file. Take a look for yourself.

What exactly is it that you put in the Kaspersky log? Are you working your problems at another forum or another website? If so, you should only work in one forum. So it that is the case pick where you want to work and just let me know.

Make sure you login to the username David account and run Ccleaner. There may be a load of infected items in the TIF folder that it will delete.

Does the Symantec stuff you have installed also contain a firewall? If it does, you must either disable it (and keep ZoneAlarm) or you must uninstall ZoneAlarm. Also make sure you have the WinXP SP2 firewall disabled.

Do you have your WinXP SP2 CD?

I have tried to follow all directions in the tutorial. My bitdefender file is quite readable as text, although it has a lot of code in it. I wondered about that but thought it might be normal. I am not working with any other forum. I deleted a lot of stuff with ccleaner run from my husband's directory (David). As to Kaspersky, after completing the scan last night, I copied everything showing in the report into a Word file. Is there a better way that I don't know about? I'm not sure if I have the XP, SP2 disk as the software was loaded when we bought the computer and I don't recall unpacking any CDs, but I'll look. I have Norton Internet Security 2005. It does have a firewall, which I disabled. Do you consider Norton's or Zone Alarm's better? Thanks for your help.

The step in the Read & RUN ME for BitDefender says
Using this would change the raw HTML code that you uploaded into plain text.

The stuff in the Kaspersky log from this text:

and on. Is not from a Kaspersky log. It is from another message forum.

Yes ZA is better. If it were up to me though, I would not use any of the Norton stuff. Was Norton's firewall already disabled? Or did you just disable it? What about the Windows XP SP2 firewall?

You may need the WinXP SP2 CD so you should start looking.
