While I look thru all of your logs please disable Spybot's Teatimer as was requested in the READ & RUN ME. See this: How to disable Spybot's TeaTimer

Then reboot your PC and see how things are working.

The teatimer button was unchecked when i ran the scan and i just checked it and it's still unchecked.

Your ComboFix log does not agree with your MGtools logs. Did you change things midstream???? Like AVG8 is in ComboFix and PC Tools is in MGtools. You should not be doing anything other than the READ & RUN ME once it is started. This was requested in the READ & RUN ME. It makes reading of your logs dificult due to the inconsistencies.

Teatimer was running in your logs. Your HJT log showed the below

    C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\TeaTimer.exe

Please do what I requested and reboot your PC. If that does not work, then uninstall Spybot.

Well the MGtools logs are from a while back. The only thing i changed was my virus protection as you noticed the difference. Rebooting now....

Yes I just notice that. WHY??? You need to follow instructions in the order written. Your MGlogs.zip file from MGtools is of no use to us since it is from one month ago and this is also why I saw Teatimer running. Thus this is where all the confusion is coming from. Even the fixed I have basically finished preparing was a waste of my time now. You need to attach a new log from MGtools after downloading the current version which you did not have either.

When I get back to this thread in the queue, I will then work up a new fix since what I have now is worthless.

Sorry about that, I do apologize. I removed mgtools from my pc, redownloaded it, ran it and have attached the log. Thank you again for your assistance.

Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

Uninstall the below all of the below as was requested in step 1 of the READ & RUN ME:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_03
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_06
    Java(TM) 6 Update 2
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1
    Viewpoint Media Player

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4EFB-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Ok. Did everything you said. There was another file in add/remove programs called "Java (TM) 6 Update 5. I didnt remove it because it wasn't one of the files you told me to remove. I did get a success message about adding fixme to the registry. Things seem to be moving faster already. I have attached the two logs as requested for your review.

Your logs are clean but you are using MSconfig which we strongly recommend that you not do in step 1 of the READ & RUN ME. You even have Spybot's Teatimer in there.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significan amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Ok, I appreciate so much everything you have done for me within this post as well as your patience. PC is moving good now. However; the only other thing that I think I need to do is control what programs start up when I turn on my pc. I think I have unnecessary things running like Quicktime, etc. but most of them I dont know if I need them running or what. You told me not to use Msconfig which was the only place I knew where you could chose what programs to start, etc. Should I start a new post for this in a different section of Major Geeks or is this something you can help me with as well.

    Thanks again!!!!!
