still no sound

    Hello, I've noticed for the last 2 or 3 days I've not been able to get sound from the internet, I can still get sound from Windows media player, games and cd's but nothing from anywhere on the Web, does anyone know what can cause this?

    Forgot to say I've no Windows start up or shut down music or Windows notification sounds. I recently ran SFC/scannow with the Windows disc from command prompt could this be the problem? I tried re-installing my sound card drivers but that didn't help.
