    I'm fiddling with a computer that had lots of redirection. I ran the read me first and the performance is improved, but something is still not right. Logs attached. Thank you for taking the time to review them.

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate these detections:

    • [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKCU\[...]\Run : SearchProtect (C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\SearchProtect\bin\cltmng.exe) [7] -> FOUND
      [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKUS\.DEFAULT[...]\Run : SearchProtect (C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\SearchProtect\bin\cltmng.exe) [x] -> FOUND
      [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKUS\S-1-5-21-2641496183-87245065-2398904194-1000[...]\Run : SearchProtect (C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\SearchProtect\bin\cltmng.exe) [7] -> FOUND
      [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKUS\S-1-5-18[...]\Run : SearchProtect (C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\SearchProtect\bin\cltmng.exe) [x] -> FOUND
      [TASK][SUSP PATH] ROC_REG_JAN_DELETE.job : C:\ProgramData\AVG January 2013 Campaign\ROC.exe /DELETE_FROM_SYSTEM=1 [7] -> FOUND
      [TASK][SUSP PATH] IHSelfDeleteTASK : CMD /C DEL C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\IHU235A.tmp.exe [x] -> FOUND
      [TASK][SUSP PATH] IHUninstallTrackingTASK : CMD /C DEL C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\IHUE72.tmp.exe [x] -> FOUND
      [TASK][SUSP PATH] ROC_REG_JAN_DELETE : C:\ProgramData\AVG January 2013 Campaign\ROC.exe /DELETE_FROM_SYSTEM=1 [7] -> FOUND

    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.
    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Do not reboot your computer yet.

    Now rerun Hitman and delete everything it found.

    Reboot and rescan with both RogueKiller and Hitman and attach those new logs as well.

    Be sure to tell me how things are running.

    Hi Tim haven't been able to get at this one until today, I can't get on the internet through Explorer without a lot of trouble so now I'm in safe mode with networking. There is still a lot stuff going on with this box.

    You still need to run Hitman and have it remove all those PUP's. ( Potentially unwanted programs. )

    I wondered why the log wasn't showing up. Everything seems to be all clear for the moment.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 4 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link

    Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
    Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0
