This is a complex question that even market analysts cannot answer but the weird *** reply is that if a company is doing good and has a great profit vs last years like for like then the dividend is likely to be good, but the markets like gloom and doom as they make no money it seems of yay all is rosy news, so they think the stock is bad so its on a sell list!

At present we have 3 credit ratings agencies dictating how markets are running, if a country is doing ok in this credit issue time, then they think, we cannot make money off that so lets downgrade their credit rating, they have no basis for this apart from a drunken and pie fuelled guess.
