this is my first post I am currently using Avira anti virus software and I am thinking about switching to stop-sign the reason I am considering the change is that I had to take one computer out of service because I could not stop constant warnings from coming up about a possible threat most recently I am havign the sae problem on another computer regarding some form of a"downloader" virus. Each time the software wants to know if I want to greant access to thepossible threat. Has anyone else used the software and/or having the same problem?

No need to change your AV. Can you give us the exact details of the warning.

Avira is (IMHO) probably the best free antivirus available, and is probably better than many of the paid products (including StopSign IMO). You have an active infection. The problem is not with AntiVir. Visit this link and follow the steps exactly as they're laid out. DO NOT skip any steps because it seems like alot of work, and don't say "well, I don't need to do that". This guide has been written by experts at virus/spyware removal and everything is set up as it is for a reason.... here's the link http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

    Good luck!
