Strange behavior, slow bootup

A few months back my laptop started messing up (dell. vista sp2) with some weird error messages and stuff that seemed like possible fake windows security alerts. I tried going into safemode and running malaware and spybot and it found a few things and deleted them but the restart was very slow and still seemed infected. I tried a system restore but after completion it said that it did not work properly. The computer would then start up very very slowly (10-15 minutes) and still be buggy when it did start.

I had to go out of town for awhile so i took my other laptop and i really just haven't had time to take a look at it lately.

I followed the instructions in the malaware removal faq, ran the steps and now i'm at step 4. I did not get any infected alerts during the tests but the computer still starts strange and i don't believe it's fixed. Thanks

Yes because you are not having malware problems. Your logs are clean.

I suggest that you post in the Software Forum; however, a question that could provide some useful info. Does the problem happen on both the Aug and the Mcx1 adminstrator accounts? If yes, does it also happen if you create a brand new administrator user account?
