strange clock speed

I took this screenshot, apparently my cpu is only clocked at 1ghz, this make no sense because it is an AMD 64 3500+ and should be at 2.2ghz, right?

Is cool and quiet running. it underclocked my 3000 when I had it running on mine. disable it in bios if it is and then try it.

 

Have you looked in setup (cmos) or does everest tell you what the clock speed and clock multiplier is?

I'm thinking you're maybe OK. You need to find the multiplier number setting in setup.

I can't read the screen shot, but it's always the core clock speed, and the multiplier that gives you the final cpu clock speed.

On my 3800+ which is also 2200 MHZ, I have a clock speed of 200 and a multiplier of 11 which is 2200 MHZ. Then I changed the clock speed to 220 which put the cpu and the ram into a 10 percent overclock so I'm showing a cpu speed increase of 10 percent plus my ram is running at 220 or DDR 440.

I could have left the bus at 200 and changed the multiplier to 12 to speed up the cpu but left the ram at 200/ddr400.

While you're there be sure to check the memory speed.

I think there are some other numbers to look at, maybe?

Splitt3r, go into the Bios and change the FSB to 200 x 11.

You only have it on 5, which is why it's only at 1GHZ. (5 x 200 = 1 000)

Notice how you didn't put anything after FSB to accurately represent what I said, like 200 x 11.

Putting a ..... doesn't help your cause.

I realise reading isn't a strong point, but try.

Works fine for me when it's enlarged. Making up excuse for an escape route also doesn't help.

I'm just answering you. It's hard to discuss something with someone who doesn't know that a FSB is built into the cpu itself, or the difference between a FSB and a cmos setting, especially when that person jumps my tail and chews me out for not reading?

Which of the two of us has an MBA, MS computer science, MCSE/MCSA A+ etc. and sounds in his posts like he really might know something?
