Hi. :) Been gone a long - long time. :)

Problem : Running Windows XP SP3. I've got the system back up and running BUT none of the local Path variable is shown/used in the global Path variable. Thus:

    Local Path = C:/DOS
    Global Path = C:/WINDOWS

When I run a command prompt and do:

    echo %path%

    All I get is "C:/WINDOWS".

Any idea why that is happening?

Thanks in advance for any advice you give. :)

UGH! I HATE IT when you are completely confused on a problem - you post it - and then you fix it! ARGH!

Solution: I had %PATH% on the local Path variable which must have wiped out the rest of the string.

    Sorry to have bothered you!

Now to go kick myself in the butt several hundred times.

Please mark this thread as closed with a red faced guy who just can't believe he overlooked the %PATH% addition to the local Path environment variable.

I hope everyone is doing ok!

Hey, thanks for posting the solution. This happens to me too. I ask for help and about 5 minutes after I post, I figure out the solution.

At least this might help others who did the same thing you did.
