strange issue appears to be hidden CPU use

    Hello,

A few times recently I have noticed the case fans running at higher rate than normal since I wasn't running any applications at the time. Looking at the windows task manager, there were no applications using CPU, yet the performance tab listed CPU use at ~21%. I opened real temp and this also listed current CPU use at ~21%. I looked at the task manager for a minute or two and none of the listed processes show any CPU use at all. I wasn't running any applications at the time, so it was just the startup processes. I have selected the checkbox to list processes from all users. If I shut down and restart, the CPU use goes away. The fans are spinning at normal speed and the task manager lists CPU use at 0-2%.

I also checked my comodo logs and there were not any open connections at all while this was happening.

I decided to run a full set of scans to make sure that there isn't something running that is able to hide itself. As far as I can read the logs and scanner results, the scans didn't find anything. I have attached the zip.

In this particular case, I'm not sure if the scanners finding nothing is reassuring or not.

I am running windows xp professional 32-bit with Comodo ISP 5.12 and a ZoneAlarm z100G firewall router.

If someone can have a peek at the logs to make sure I haven't missed something I would appreciate that. If the logs are clean, any ideas about what may be going on here? Anyone here of something like this before?

Not finding any malware in those logs at all. Feel free to post in our software forum about any issues you have! :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
