    Hi!
I have the following strange situation:

    OS: Windows XP Professional SP2
    VGA: NVidia GeForce FX 5200

While working on the PC, the colors suddenly get damaged, as if you were working on 256 colors mode, while it is still set to Highest (32 bit)
I then uninstall the VGA driver, re-install, and it's all working fine!

Well, today it didn't work and I noticed something strange, the colors are normal until I install the driver and reboot. When I reboot and log in to the account, it is messed up again.

So please notice this: even after installing certified driver and rebooting, everything is fine just before logging in, when watching it closely, you feel that there is something happening after passing the welcome screen.

Is it the VGA or a software issue?

    Hi Amjad..

Your right - that is curious behavior. Did you recently upgrade or update to NVidia GeForce FX 5200? The reason I ask is a while back I reinstalled XP one time and when I went to windows update one of the options was to upgrade my NVidia GeForce. When the update was over I rebooted and WHAM - I could not even see the screen because the colors were weird and the resolution changed as well

Also with those the symptoms that you mentioned - it sounds like maybe it could just be the monitor's shot. How old and what is the model and serial number of the monitor.

    Good Luck!

I tried more than three versions of the driver. I always get the same result.
But here's what's making me crazy: It's all fine after uninstalling the VGA drivers (of course, except for the low performance and resolution - I mean the colors become great)

Thank you very much my friend, but since it's working fine with no driver (or let's say the Windows default driver), can we still suspect the monitor?

The monitor isn't new, but it isn't old, either. It's Philips, 3 years ago.

I'll try to provide you with details.
