On November 28, my computer got infected with something or something weird happened to it. I had AOL radio Google, Wikipedia, Skype, and MS Word opened, when all of a sudden the audio was cut off. Thinking the audio drivers were ruined, I re-installed Realtek and Conexant audio drivers. Soon I noticed strange things happening, starting with the wireless network icon on the taskbar appeared to be shutdown, but I was still accessing the INTERNET. Here are the strange things:

-when opening a new window, it takes at least 2 minutes to get to the home page.(after I open a page or two, I cannot open another page by clicking the I.E. icon or else the page freezes.

-The volume is not working. No audio from any program, Skype, AOL Radio, playing a CD.

-Wireless icon on the right bottom corner shows there is no connection even if there is..when putting the arrow over it, it says connection status unknown, and "class not registered below it"

-I cannot install anything, including antispyware. When I try to, the run/save/close box comes out and I have tried clicking both run and save and the process of downloading starts but once its over, nothing pops up and I cannot find it anywhere.

-There is some mysterious new unsecure internet connections. I usually connect to an unsecure linksys connection called (linksys) but now there is like 8 other mysterious ones called linksys1, linksys12, linksys123, linksys1234, and so on until it reaches linksys12345678.

-I cannot uninstall anything. When I try to, a message box pops up that says, (The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.)

-I cannot back up my files using system restore. When I try, a message box pops out saying.( Restore system files and settings) (The system restore does not appear to be functioning correctly on this system. The Volume Shadow Copy service used by System Restore is not working. For more information view the event log.(0x81000202) )

-I cannot access Windows Update, it says the service for Windows Update has not been started and suggest I reboot.

-I cannot access System restore even after booting into Safe Mode.

I have found another individual suffering from the same symptoms with other malfunctioning of his computer, see

    http://forums.techguy.org/malware-r...20-my-computers-unexpected-shutdown-mest.html

I have ran COMBOFIX and AVG 8.5 detects no virus.

Appreciate any and all of your help and suggestions before I wipe out the whole installation and start over. Running Vista SP2 and later on HP Pavilion Entertainment PC Turion 64x2.

I would therefore like to see the log from running Combofix :)

Were you not able to run SUPERantispyware or Malware Bytes? And what about MGTools? Were you able to run that? Please let me know, and if you have run them already then attach the logs from doing so as well as the C:\combofix.txt.

    Thanks
