striker extreme oc help

hi guys new to this site
but i hope you can help me.
what im after is to get my pc to run to best settings in bios and games i.e cod 4.
this is my pc spec.
motherboard striker extreme ii
quad extreme qx9700 full water cooled
crosair 8gb 1600mhz 2x4
2xbfg h2ocgtx280 nvidia cards both water cooled
1000 tough power psu
2x velociraptor 150 gb hd in raid
1tb seagate barracuda hd blueray dvd/r/w drive
all but in a silverstone tj07 case
running windows 7 ultimate 64.
well thats the spec
im a little new to overclocking i know all mb tend to run a little diffrent but im hoping you can tell me a base line to start from or a tryed and test settup .

but not needing an insight to how and why of overclocking just need some pointers of this board i.e tryed and tested bios settings if other uses have this mb and have used a good setting for gaming.
would love to fully understand the true meaning of overclocking but i may only clock this mb once and thats it just trying to get the best out of it .

 

Well hardware setups differ so even with somebody with the same exact setup they may be able to overclock higher then you.

I would start playing around still you find a nice stable OC. It may take some time to find a good stable oc. Don't overkill it and burn your hardware out.

when i start messing around with the bios settings .
what r the do's and what r rhe dont's.
i.e voltage ram psu fsb do i notch up a bit to all at the same time or do i notch up one at a time then try .
if anybody could tell me a baseline to start from im running at crazy at the moment psu auto this was do by a shop (pc shop ) but not happy running it at this .
any more help would be greatfull

i have mangage to change bios setting now to get my 3.2 running at 4.5 .
its been running solid for a good week now .
if anybody needs my bois settings pls reply to this post and i will tell you my bios settings i.e cpc-volt
i have also moved over to windows 7 whitch is running sweet no hic ups fingers crossed any way guys if you need my setting just ask.
as for this web/forums thanks guys bfor all your help (pclover)
