Stuck on one website

I unwisely/accidentally downloaded a trojan yesterday. I found your site and began to complete the "READ This and Do" - or something similar - file. I downloaded all 5 files and got up to the point of running 3 of them. Finding several things to fix. When I got to the combo fix program, I found I no longer could access the internet - so I couldn't get the file that told me how to run that program. The strange thing was that my internet worked fine on my laptop that is running from the wireless network that is plugged to my desktop (which DIDN'T work), but the internet on my desktop kept telling me it couldn't find a proxy server.

So, SuperAnti-Spyware was run again and it found a trojan. We thought it was fixed. We have multiple user accounts on this computer and the strange thing is that on my user account I get redirected every time to my gmail account page. It doesn't matter what url I type...it always redirects to my gmail account page. However, on the other user accounts I am able to access websites (including this one - thankfully!). Any help would be hugely appreciated.

It is Windows XP and The problem is on Firefox. Explorer won't access anything.

 

Just wanted to let you know that my brother told me I shouldn't have a proxy and I could change the settings for that. I went to my advanced options on my tools and saw that it had a manual proxy setting. All I had to do was change it to "no proxy". I still don't understand, but now it works. Thank you.
