Why oh why do people always blame the computer when things go wrong,
    Class today.

It’s copied it in the wrong place, It’s lost all my work, I’m sure I didn’t, I’m sure I did, I think I have, It keeps deleting things, I hate it its stupid.

Is that the rumblings of a storm I hear? Or ten thousand outraged women bearing down on tony?
Stay inside. Lock the doors. Put on a dress and a wig if you have to.

The old saying, "A poor workman(woman) blames his tools comes to mind ;). I gotta admit though, sometimes the computer I'm working on does seem to take on a malevolent mind of it's own. ~ Or maybe I'm just Paranoid???.... 0_o.

I'd reply. If in dought. Just format C: drive and your troubles will be over. Then buy a large note book to write things down.

I have to say Tony you have hit a large nail on the head in your "why do folk blame the computer",

Simple answer is they do not think themselves as infallible and for a better word dense! so the easy thing to blame is the inanimate object in the PC, in some respects I don't blame the end user for blaming the PC in some respects as in part they are not easy to use if you are technophobic.

But the big thing that makes me smile these days is folk blaming the XXXX version of Windows and Bill Gates for all their issues... hahahahahha XXXX version of Windows was not programmed by Bill Gates and even less so in Windows Vista or & so choose Steve Ballmer for that, but in the main its the user and what they have installed and are surfing that is the main cause of OS ills, clean install of an OS to the hardware makers drivers etc will have a stable PC, its the crap the end user installs and tweaks that causes the issues.

Case in point is I hate Windows & so want XP, well the HW you have has no XP drivers, so blame Bill Gates and Microsoft... smart move!

the list of examples I could go on with for days, I wont as I have no interest at all, if you use an OS and like it great if you don't then try something else, as in OSX or Linux (if PC will handle them) or leave the damn thing alone and do not tweak due to hearing a friend at schools, neighbours cat, talking to the parrot say hey edit the registry in XX location for a speed hit.

I will leave this post with my 7 and 12yr old nieces have not yet managed to kill a Windows OS yet form XP, Vista and now 7, and not as if with the years they have been using a PC. They have mind killed them with Fizzy POP and seeing if one will fly down a set of stairs in one case!

oh and an addendum is that and this is not Windows or the PCs fault but that of a 3rd party application, wont name it as my workplace may find the post is that on a network drive I can delete a set of files and you'd think they where gone, NO, hit refresh as they reappear in a blaze of glory that would impress David Blaine, the issue is I feel in 3rd party security app and lack of knowledge of that app and what I could do.... I have read the tech docs on it and searched the net for other business users with same issue and it ties in... BUT what I know ;)

    Wenchie I R teh brat

usually it's totally my fault when i screw something up.. but I had this weird issue where there was something wrong with the way the computer was reading the input on my optical mouse and it did some straight crazy things :p

And the power supply totally soldered itself to my motherboard... so didn't do that myself :p Ask CP, he got stuck fixing it.

Over the years i have had numerous problems with PC and without exception it is Bill Gates fault for designing such a logical OS that only interprets my input.

If you put :crap in :crap come out. :-D

"Experienced" men have come to recognized that as being a Woman. :-D

From the Star Trek episode, "Nomad":
Nomad, referring to Uhura: "This unit is a mass of conflicting impulses"
Spock: "That 'unit' is a woman"

    Bitch! rolleyes :-D

Charo, from "The Concorde .. Airport '79"

"Oh, please don't misconscrew me!" ;)
