Stupid Newspaper Articles... Got any?

Ahh, last I checked, Arizona was a state, so how could an Arizona person be illegal? Wouldn't they have to be from another country to be illegal?

Maybe it's a satire...? Yeah no, that used up all my optimism for the day. Truly sad. do they not have a story editor? or even a spell checker? Is it run by the local highschool? It hurt my head...

 

Satire? We don't take to kindly to strange folks and them there big words... :-D

I have emailed them numerous times and just gave up. Once I emailed them about an article that was written entirely with one sentence paragraphs, and got a link to the NY Times that had a typo? And was told that it was a journalistic style of writting... Now my English and writin' skills aint perfect, but I don't get paid to write.

I am watching out for those Arizonians... Sounds French, or maybe Canadian... You know I met some people from Arkansas the other day, If they come back I am calling immigration!

Well...I don't know about their normal stories, but the only thing I see wrong here is an unfortunate choice of headline worthy of being sent in to Jay Leno. He told them he was from Arizon, but in reality is in the country illegally. It is pretty darn funny, though.

 

That is my local paper Sgt Tibbs, trust me, they do that kind of stuff all the time... Maybe the news is in the Comics, and the comics are in the news section. Silly me.

New Milwaukee Brewers pitcher CC Sabathia no longer wants periods after the initials he uses for his first name.

From here on out, Carsten Charles Sabathia is just “CC” Sabathia—not “C.C.”

After holding a news conference Monday morning to announce they’d made a trade to acquire the reigning AL Cy Young award winner from Cleveland, a member of the Brewers public relations staff advised media members that Sabathia prefers to have his initials written without periods.

“Oh, really?” Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said.

But after Sabathia arrived in Milwaukee Monday afternoon, he said it wasn’t a big deal.

“I guess I’d go no periods,” Sabathia said.

Well, all I can say is someone needs to chlorinate the gene pool... srsly. End story.

 

I don't have any articles, but when I lived in Southern Illinois, we had a paper called (ever so appropriately) "The Southern Illinoisan" which is called by many "The Southern Illusion". So then I move to Aurora, IL and think I might get a nice local paper...wrong..."The Beacon News" is called "To Be Confused".

Oh well...at least they had the funnies

Well, the guy supplied an Arizona address, but that may just be where he was shacking up, not where he actually from. Nevertheless, that's wording that's confusing and should have been fixed by an editor.
