I received two merits cards in the mail a few weeks ago, that promised 25% off all accessories, and one free accessory up to 20.00.

So I immediatley ordered the accessory, only to get an email that it is backordered and will be shipped when it comes in. Mind you, I got this email several days after I placed the order.

Fine. I wait one week. Then another.

    Then I get this email.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the accessory that you ordered is no
longer available through us. We recommend that you contact the manufacturer
of the phone for your accessory needs or visit the Accessory Access website
    at
    http://usaw.bac-tech.com/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=verizon/storefront2.htm

Your order for this item has been cancelled and you will not be charged for
items that were not shipped. Once again, we apologize for this
    inconvenience.

Infuriating, right? Maybe just a little. But hey, I'm a good sport. So I go online again to order something else.

    Its no longer free.

    Now I am pissed.

Waiting almost a year for rebates from Cingular for phone upgrades; some companies have a the IQ of a houseplant.

...they credited me. Took two phone calls though. My wife called, and they told her there was no such promotion.

Oh the irony...guess what was in the mail when I got home?

    No, not the rebates.

An offer from Cingular to get a rebate if I upgrade to yet another phone.

    Morons.

I guess I was lucky. I got my verizon rebate, 70$ about 3 weeks after I sent it in.

Besides the lockdown on bluetooth, memory cards, and whatnot, I decided on a phone that didn't have those: LG VX8000 (8100 was to small for my big hands).

Hey.. I have Verizon, too. My dad was JUST telling me today that there is some type of hack (the word he used if I'm not mistaken) for the lockdown on bluetooth. I'm a lil sicky today, so I don't quite remember everything he told me, but I can find out where he read/heard that...

Any hack for bth requires a firmware edit.

Not for the faint of heart ;)

lol Ok. I don't know about these things. Was just saying what my Dad told me. I'll have to tell him that... He's thinking about doing something about it with his celly.

I had the vx 6000 a while ago, I found some stuff online about it, the pass code for the administrative type setup is 000000 and you can change the proxy for the internet, pretty much get free net access. I had a huge problem with dropping calls with them tho, They replaced my phone last december and it didnt fix it, swore up and down it couldnt be the battery. I let it go then around april my earpiece stopped working, I took it in, they told me a minimum $65 fee because my warranty was up (had it a year and half the phone was only 4 months old tho)

So I was pretty enfuriated, walked a block to the sprint store and spent $50 for a way better phone. Havnt had a problem since and its cheaper monthly with more features.

Out here, if you want reception, you get Verizon. If you want features, you go elsewhere, but ddon't get reception.

In the end, a phone is just that-- a phone. If you can't use it to talk on, its worthless.
