For about two or three weeks, when I try to access any random website, I have been getting a screen that says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Sometimes it will go through if I refresh the page but not often. Has anyone else had this kind of trouble?

    give a few examples, please.
It could be your ISP. On some ISPs, DNS direction gets screwed up.
    You need to mention
    a) what version of Windows
    b) what version of IE
    c) have you tried another browser

I, too, get this problem, but very rarely, and as usually refreshing the page gets it to work, or going back, refreshing and trying again solve I just put it down to one of the many issues I have with my ISP (TalkTalk) or just one of those things. Since it is so infrequent I haven't really bothered with it.
IE7, Firefox - can't remember having this problem in FF, but maybe I have. Other issue with ff especially with hotmail.

Thanks for responding. I'm running Windows XP SP3, IE8, and no, I haven't tried another browser. As far as frequency of the problem, it happens at least five times every session (2 hours). It seems to favor what I think are high traffic sites like Google, Yahoo, Facebook, and popular shopping sites. I am also on a dial-up connection. (only alternative is expensive satellite connection) Connection is only 31.2 kbps at best. Is it possible that traffic has gotten so high that it has finally overwhelmed a slow connection?

Dialup is an entire different story!
