Sudden Video Slow Down

    My PC has been running great, but about 3 days ago, the video playback when viewing DVDs, streaming video (Youtube) and video games has become buggy. The video is very choppy at best, and in video games, it is very slow or jerks around a lot (Run... sudenly stop. then run).

    I havent downloaded or installed any new programs prior to this, and I have inspected the interior of the case for dust.

    The best way to describe it is it "feels" as if my video settings have been turned down. The machine is behaving like a much older or inferior machine when playing back video (Grainy, choppy, etc.).

    I have checked my settings, rolled back driver and updated drivers. No changes. I have read and followed your Read and Run first thread, but have found no problems. Also, none of my spyware scans have shown any problems either.

    Could I have some sort of virus or spyware that has mucked with my video card or drivers? Or does this sound like a faulty video card?

    How should I precede?

    Any help is appreciated.

    It is rare that problems like this would be due to malware.

    But are you sure that no software updates were automatically done in the background?

    Unless you attach the requested logs, we cannot offer any opinions on this.

    Unknown but you should post in the Hardware Forum for this. Also perform memory tests to make sure that you are not having problems with your RAM.

    If you attach the requested logs from the READ ME, we can make a decision on your malware status and offer opinions about sofftware you may be running. Other than that, I suggest you post in the Hardware Forum.
