Suddenly everything is in italics...

I booted up this morning and quite a few of my applications are now displaying text, for the most part, in italics.

For example, IE is displaying most "normal" body text in italics. Going to Google or Yahoo, all of the HTML text renders in italics.

Many application dialog boxes are in italics, like AdWare.

I've searched high and low on the web for any clue but nary a mention of the problem. I'm running XP HE.

    So far I have:

Checked Windows theme and font settings.
Doubled checked that the full complement of windows fonts is present
    Run CCCleaner.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Are you running a theme or msstyle? If so try changing it.

Hi, I ran into this problem on a friend's computer. Eventually I found that the font usually used (Arial-Regular) had somehow got corrupted and the computer had been smart enough to drop down to the next font in the list (Arial-Italics). I copied the font file from another computer (from the windows\fonts directory) and overwrote the corrupted one. This restored everthing back to normal (after rebooting).

Don't know if that is your problem, but thought you might like to check this out in case it helps.
