Hi there.. I also faced the same problem here.. Sometimes my laptop suddenly shuts down when I am in the middle of doing my stuffs... so you guys are saying the cause of this might be overheating and I need some cleaning on the fans... I might sound dumb asking you guys but I really need some help on doing the cleaning here? Can any of you guys tell me how? Thanks.

Hi Always best to start a new thread and maybe link to a previous one if the info is relevent, as a new thread will get more looks over an old one of someone elses, as folk read the first bits and think your reply is an answer over a question.

So moved your post to its own thread and for others the original thread and info is here http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=120865

Yes your issues could be temperature based, if you turn over your laptop when its off, look at and inside the cooling grils where the fans are and are they caked in dust?

Also install this http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html its quick and easy to get temps from, once installed click Computer and Sensor and tell us the temps, plus what CPU you have.

In addition to the bottom of the laptop, sometimes there's also fan outlets in the back or on the sides of the laptop; check those too. Even if all the grills appear relatively clean, you may have a fan inside that isn't spinning, or has impaired spinning, preventing proper cooling. I've seen laptop fans so full of dust and hair that they don't spin. Also, ALWAYS run the laptop on a hard surface. If you run it on the carpeted floor, or in bed on a blanket or bedspread, it can't "breathe" and will over heat. Use a tray of some type if you must use it in bed; even a piece of plywood will work... Anyway, use the link posted above to find your internal temps, post 'em, and we'll go from there....

Oops I always run my laptop on the bed :D... I see so the laptop can't breathe... The next time I will put my laptop on a hard-surfaced like a hard cover file or something... Well I just had a look at the fans at the bottom and the fan outlet at the side of my laptop, they are dusty but not too dusty I guess... I have installed Everest Home Edition that Halo suggested..The internal temp of my laptop is 49 degree Celsius (120 degree Fahrenheit) and I am charging my laptop at the time..And the CPU type that I am using Mobile Pentium M 750J 1866 MHz
