SuperAntiSpyware found these results on my computer. Are these for real or are these false positives?

    Trojan.Fake-Drop/Gen
    C:\Windows\Rascntrl.dll
    C:\Windows\System32\SVCPrmpt.dll

I don't really know the answer for sure, but I leaning towards a false detection. What I do know is that those two files always show up at the same time and we have scanned rascntrl.dll in the past and found no problems with it based on many scanners.

Do you still have the two files? If so, could you put them into a ZIP file and upload them here as an attachment.

I guess they're not on my system anymore because I had SuperAntiSpyware clean them. I just did a search and nothing came up so I guess that program got rid of them.

But my computer is still painfully slow. When I try playing a game it takes forever for the mouse to move in the game. Before it would go fast, but now it takes forever to move. I thought maybe those files were causing it but I guess not. I have ran spyware, malware, and virus checks and nothing comes up. I use CCleaner to clean my cache and registry everyday (I use Firefox not IE) and even defragment everyday. I'm running Windows XP SP2.

Was it slow before the files were removed?

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

Yeah it was. I think it was SP2. For some reason whenever I upgrade to SP2 the computer slows down and the memory gets eaten up. I only have 512mb installed. The computer is ancient. It dates back to about 2000 I believe. (Yes, I know SP2 is better for your computer but I swear every time I install it my computer becomes unbelievably slow.)

I don't have any logs for you, but I can tell you that the last time I did a search everything including virus and spyware tests can back empty. I have a new problem again. My harddrive is failing. Meaning I couldn't even get Windows to start up. So now I tried to re-format the drive and I keep getting errors again about how my drive is damaged. I already checked with the Western Digital diagnostic tool, but both the quick and extended test came back with zero errors. But yet I still can't install Windows because when I try to it says the drive is damaged. :( Any idea how I can "fix" it so I can reinstall Windows.

If your hard drive is really failing or failed, you need a new hard drive. At any rate for problems like this, you need to post in the Hardware Forum.
