Survey: Northeast has dumbest drivers

More than 5,000 licensed drivers between the ages of 16 and 65 were administered a 20-question written test designed to measure basic knowledge about traffic laws and safety. They were also surveyed about their general driving habits.

Drivers in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states did worst. Twenty percent of test-takers failed there.

Not suprised, the drivers up here in the 'North Country' must be in that 20% who failed.

 

i just drove from NJ back home to CA, and i've got to say I agree the worst drivers are up in the north east.

surprisingly, the mid-american drivers are well educated in driving etiquette, like staying out of the 'passing lane' unless passing--something neither coast has ever comprehended.

 

Having lived 17 yrs in New England, and now living in rural remote CA, I would be more worried about unlicensed drivers.

The worst I saw were in Las Vegas..... and I used to drive a cab there, so I know how to drive wild myself!
