Anyone have an idea as to how to check for virus's when no anti-virus programs will download correctly ( all have different errors ...corrupt files, error with definitions, etc.). Suspect its why xp keeps having problems (even installation with a reformat and clean install). Spy sweeper has found a few things, but AVG freeware won't install, Avast won't install .... getting frustrated.

Click on the link below and run the online scan...

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus Online Scan

    • Click on "Kaspersky Online Scanner"
    • Click Accept to procede...
    • If this popup displays, Install Kaspersky's ActiveX Control
    • If this popup displays, Install the "kavwebscan_unicode.cab"
    • After all updates are downloaded, click NEXT to continue...
    • Click Scan Settings and select extended and make sure both boxes are checked at the bottom, Click OK to continue.
    • Now click on My Computer and let it run!

So it found 4 virus's and 19 infected files ..... so I downloaded their free trial anti-virus program ..... just like the all the other anti-virus downloads, wouldn't install due to corrupt files .....(the infections were trojans).

Ran HJT and karspecsky's clrav .... have results from HJT but clrav didn't run properly (can't run the system files). Still can't download any anti-virus programs.
