Hello. My Malware troubles began after allowing a friend (whom likes torrents) to spend a weekend. I didn't use my computer for a few days and after reading an article, I visited http://bit.ly/18blTQ. I was referenced this site by a popular computer magazine to clean and speed up my computer. Nearly immediately after visiting that site, my computer would restart, be functional for a few minutes and then restart again. AVG8 would detect Trojans

I followed the information in the read and run me and the logs are on the bottom. It seems to have cleared the computer of the viruses but I'm suspicious because my computer is running slow when I use iTunes or IExplorer.

I am running Windows XP SP3, AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3400+, 2.25 GHz, 3Gb RAM. I use 2 internal hard drives. One for running programs and the other for storing media.

I appreciate any help you can lend in the matter.

You did not allow MGTools to run to completion. You need to re-run it, make sure you accept the license agreement to run HJT, and wait for it to tell you it is finished. Then attach the new log.

You also need to put ComboFix where we instructed you to put it, which is on your desktop, not here:
    d:\bitcomet downloads\ComboFix.exe

I apologize. When I first tried to run MGTools, my computer would keep restarting in the middle of it running. The Run & Read Me said not to run the process over again if I still had a problem. So, I didn't want to run it again unless instructed to. Thank you for your reply.

MGTool still did not run to completion. Please go to start / run and type:
    cmd

Once the command prompt opens, type in this:

    • cd C:\
    • MGtools.exe
Hitting enter after each entry. Then tell me exactly what happens....it should run until it tells you to hit any key.
