Suspected Malware

  1. Within the past couple of days my internet has gotten so slow that I can barely navigate one tab at a time. Heaven help me if I have to download anything (177 MB file took about 3+ min on a 25 MB/s connection.) Did a speed test and am getting the correct speed, but navigating to a different page takes quite some time to load. On my wife's computer it's next-to instantaneous for each tab going to several different pages at once.

The problem is limited to my computer. Have tried directly hooking up my computer to the modem in case it was a router issue, but that didn't help at all. Again, wife's computer is going as swiftly as mine SHOULD be connected through the router.

Thought it might be a browser issue. No, the problem occurs on multiple browsers (my primary being Chrome then Firefox then Palemoon). Used to able to run several browsers at once with no lag whatsoever.

Followed your guide and posting the results here. The final program, MGtools, seems to have stalled during the Local Loopback Ping test (NwkTst.bat) - been about 15+ minutes and counting on this part alone; if this changes I'll update asap. Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.

Oh, and running Windows 7 64-bit on a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. 4 GB RAM.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!
We need this log to continue as there are no problems in your other logs other than some adware junk we will cleanup.

Try closing ALL browser windows. Also shutdown your ALL protection software and then do the below. What for any popup windows with messages that you may need to respond to ( like TrendMicro Hijackthis where you need to click on the Accept button TWICE to get it to continue ).

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
