SVCHOST Error

Thanks to Major Geeks, my computer has been trouble free for a long time. I went through the whole cleaning process even though my pc was running fine and for some reason i started getting a SVCHost Error when double clicking my computer or trying to save a file and browsing for somewhere to save it.

The error states that the instruction at blah blah referenced memory at blah blah. The memory could not be written. With options to click OK or Cancel. Clicking cancel will continue the process after 15secs or so, but i would like to get rid of the error. This is sometimes followed by a Generic Host Process for Win32 Services window.

The error report contents mention svchost.exe.mdmp and appcompat.txt.

I've searched the web, recleaned my pc and tried tips from other forum threads without success. I am running XP Pro SP2. I can post logs, but this didn't seem applicable since the scans didn't find anything???

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your response. I followed the directions, downloading the windows debugger, but i don't have a *.dmp file.

Do you have any other ideas that i can try?

Thank you for trying, but i was able to resolve it myself. I'm not sure how i did it tho, else i would share. :-o
