svchost.exe's

This is just me being paranoid but how many svchosts is too many? I know viruses can disguise themselves are this process... I've got 6 in my task manager, one taking up 20K in memory... but no unusual PC symptoms or problems noticed...

Six svchost.exe is not unreasonable.

Malware is usually the culprit when they are spelled oddly (scvhost, svchosts, svchst and the like) or when svchost.exe is running from a location other than system32.

Just a note. The one you hightlighted was not using 20k. It was using more than 20 Mb.

21,640 k is 21,640 x 1024 = 22,159,360 bytes

sorry, i used the K meaning "thousands", not kilabytes... like $20K is $20,000 : P

Yes and that would be basically correct except 21640 k by your definition would still be 21,640,000 which is still Mb.

In the PC world k = 1024 as in my last example.
