SW Protector malware

I cannot access my desktop page on startup on an infected computer:I only get a rogue SW Protector page and so I am unable to activate any of my antimalware programs. I have tried safe mode and changing accounts but the result is always the same i.e. the SW page.Thus the computer is, at present, unuseable.
Please advise on how I can eliminate this malware.

I'm glad to say that I've been able to solve the problem prior to receiving your appreciated assistance.
I accessed my administrator account in safe mode and from there I was able to use the Task Manager to identify the malware file that was responsible and I then eliminated it.
The file name was "ajtwsrdw0.exe". It was a prefetch file and its purpose was to create a dummy desktop using my current background scene minus all icons including the task bar.
My genuine desktop is now displayed and everything is working fine.
Incidently and rather interestingly when I googled the errant file name there were only TWO search results:both from the same antimalware company.
I then googled the company and found that there existed a number of complaints made about it together with a number of testimonials.
I hope the above will be of benefit to any user who has the same or similar problem.
