Sygate Personal Firewall problem?

We recently got a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, and upon receiving it, we downloaded several Windows updates and updates to the Norton Internet Security which came with the unit. Everything seemed to be going fine until we installed the Sygate Personal Firewall. Now we cannot successfully download any software (i.e. Ad-aware, Spybot, updates to Earthlink software), but we can surf OK. Any software downloads abort after about 20% of the download has been completed. We are not getting any error messages.

We disabled the Windows firewall and also the Norton firewall. Just the Sygate firewall is running. I suspect we don't have the proper settings, but I am clueless as to where to begin.

We have XP Pro.

Can someone help us out?

You may have to uninstall the Norton Firewall, sometimes just disabling it does not work.

I'll second that uninstall your Norton Firewall. It doesn't play well with others, even when disabled.
