    Hi there!

I have an issue with sygate, whenever it's installed it seem to swallow all my ram and every program I want to open seems to take ages, the minute it's uninstalled it seems to be fine. Also when I boot my PC sygate immediately encounters a problem... this is before I even get the chance to touch my mouse! It doesn't seem to make any difference on whether the original XP firewall is disabled or not, my entire system starts to run like a 90 yr old woman trying to collect her pension!

    Please help, my specs follow:

    850mz duron processor
    256 DDR Ram
30GB of space left on one of my 40GB partitions
    Windows XP service pack 2
sygate freeware version (downloaded from this site!!)

    thanks for any suggestions

    Re: sygate and software conflicts??

    Hi there!

I have just remastered a friends pc (driver issue) and thought I would take the opportunity to test drive sygate on a clean pc.. Suprise surprise, I have encountered the same error messages that sygate produced on my pc, except it doesn't slow quite as much (she has a 1.7 cleron with 256 ddr ram). As my friends PC definitely doesn't have any virus or malware, I was wondering if anyone knew of any conflicts that sygate has with any other software or XP its self? Any other explanations would be welcome.

Personally I would do away with Sygate if your having problems with it and use ZoneAlarm. I use this and never had a problem.

This would be best answered in the Software Forum. Maybe those guys can help you a little better as I am not familiar with Sygate.
