Sygate VS Webroot firewall, which to choose?

Guys please help me out. I am a little bit confused here. I have sygate firewall (free version). I also have webroot spy sweeper paid version. As webroot is giving their desktop firewall free presently, i was thinking to install their firewall. Please let me know if it will be a good decision to replace sygate with webroot. many thanks.

Hi Geneman

As Sygate Free is no longer supported as company was bought my Symantec a few years back, it maybe a wise choice to update to Webroots as it is current and new so will be current with any exploits that may bypass a firewall, I would however also keep the main installer file of sygate safe on your PC just in case you dont like Webroots FW and wish to re-install Sygate.

My normal docterine is if your PC is safe and malware free with the software you have employed now then stick with them as they are obviously working for you, but maybe worth a trial of the new Webroot FW.

I not seen this free option as yet so couldnt advise as to wether its a good GUI or FW or not.

Many thanks for the reply. Its very informative. I have a question, suppose if i wanna give Webroot a try, do i need to uninstall sygate? or if i just stop it from starting at boot time and let it sit quite, will it be fine?
