Symptoms of being hijacked

    Well funnily enough I can download from either Mirror just fine and I get the complete program not just a text file as you described.

    To be honest I am running out of options here, everything I have you try we cannot get through due to one thing or another, always there is a problem. Before I go off for the night you should try this. (If you can manage it)

    Download OTL to your desktop.

    • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    • Vista and Windows 7 users Right-click OTL and choose Run as Administrator)
    • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
    • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
    • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.

    When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.

    Attach both of these logs into your next reply.

    Hi there, before I log out for the night, I would just like to point out that if you are unable to run OTL according to the instructions I provided, then maybe it would be advisable and beneficial to us both, if you were to recruit some extra help to carry out our procedures. Is there a friend, a family member or a neighbour perhaps who would be kind enough to help guide you through it all? :)

    Yes, my neighbour is already into my computer.

    OTL is running.

    What other program? SystemLook.exe That's what you told me to download. I downloaded one mirror but there seemed no point in downloading the second if the first one wouldn't work

    I told you I was no geek, so it's too late to complain now. I would attach the log if I could find it and someone might be willing to take a look.

    As I said before, I can't find Notebook.

    Good, it must have finished by now. Attach the log please. Should be on your desktop if this is where you downloaded OTL and ran it from. The instructions even TELL you clearly where to find the log.

    Cannot find notebook???? What do you mean? If you do not have the OTL log, or something has gone wrong, then I am going to suggest that we rewind RIGHT back to the beginning of the procedures. So let me know.

    There is no such thing as "Notebook". You must be meaning NotePad!! You can find notepad by going to start / programs / accessories / notepad.

    Pardon me. OTL called it Notebook.

    I'm attaching the log from yesterday.

    I should warn you that I have deleted IObit Pro and installed a new anti-Malware suggested by my Internet company.

    If nothing shows up on this log, I will take my computer to them tomorrow and have the OS re-installed.

    This thread is now at 58 messages ( not including my post ) and you not yet attach any proper logs. Your combofix logs were incomplete and you have not attached any of the other logs requested. In fact each time you did post something, you posted inline messages of incomplete logs and did not attach them, and instructions for attaching logs has clearly been given.

    I'm sorry but it has become rather apparent that you either lack the basic PC skills to follow the instructions being given, or you are just not cooperating. We even asked you to get someone to help you follow the instructions being given.

    If your next reply does not contain ALL of the logs requested via the READ & RUN ME FIRST and also any other logs requested in this thread, we will be forced to close this thread since we cannot help you if you cannot help us to help you.

    I have no idea why all of the logs are not attaching but I'll give it another try.

    I'm no geek but I do know something is seriously wrong with my OS and I can do nothing about it for at least two week until my recovery disk reaches me from Dell. Two technicians worked on my computer for hours yesterday and they can find nothing wrong but the OS has to be re-installed.
