Does anyone know a way to sync Outlook (2003 on Windows 7) to a Windows Phone (Windows Mobile 6, Blackjack) using either USB or Bluetooth? It would seem that Windows would rather I upload the whole thing to the cloud and sync from the net. Problem is I don't have net service on my phone contract and I don't want it. Basically if I bought a data package for my phone to do this I'd be paying $15 a month just to sync my calendar. It's much cheaper to do it manually I guess.

The irony of it all is I can sync most other things. Contacts, email addresses, even incoming emails via the USB cable. But a calendar? Noooooo, that's gotta be a PITA.

I have a windows Mobile (Pocket PC without Celluar Connection) and as I recall I thought that their was an option to sync it with a Windows Mobile connected to the same PC.

To do this you require Windows Mobile Deviec Center as it also states that it is compatible for Windows 7, which I am sure you probably already have.
it also syncs your OutLook contacts as well.

(WMDC) is a programm designed by Microsoft to replace the old ActiveSync by Microsoft, I can guaranty that it will work with ActiveSync
because it specificly says that ActiveSync was designed to be compatable and sync with OutLook!
Says it here and it's also compatable with Windows 7 http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/howto/wp6/sync/installing-activesync.aspx

Yeah, it works with Active Sync because that's on XP, but you can't sync the calendar with WMDC on Vista or Win7. Not unless you want to do the wireless data usage and every time I talk to AT&T about it they keep pushing the data plan. Can't afford/don't want that.

It's pretty stupid that you can transfer an email via USB but you have to use the web to sync your calendar. *** backwards.

You don't have to send it all wirelessly, I just get my cable out and plug it into the
PC and Windows Mobile, and ActiveSync is compatible with Vista and Windows 7.

It looks like I have to go into every instance (or series if it's a reoccurring instance) in my Outlook Calendar, open the instance, show time as Busy, put it in a category, then click Edit> Mark as Unread for it to actually sync with the phone. Still a pain, but I can live with that. It's workable.

When I googled this problem I never once came across an instance where someone got this done and I even posted on Windows' facebook page with a reply that "Just use your data minutes, that's the way it's designed" by another user.

Does Active Sync give you any controls? WMDC is rather 'you get what you get' kind of thing with very few actual controls to try to resolve any issues. If you pair the phone and PC on Bluetooth and sync it for example it syncs every 30 seconds or so, which turns on the display on the phone, which runs the battery down. Nokia PC Sync let you set up times, schedule up and down times, would start syncing when your phone with Bluetooth turned on came into range, specify which calendar to sync too (WMDC has no options for this), it backed up the phones numbers and contacts (WMDC will only sync numbers and contacts that are connected to Hotmail), and a bunch of other stuff. At this point my old 1G phone was a lot more smart than my new (to me) 3G Smartphone.
