system 32

everytime i boot up my computer,, xp home,, the system 32 folder comes up open on the desktop everytime. does anyone have suggestions ???

 

Go to the link below and scroll down to #260 on the right-hand side (System32 Folder Opens Upon Boot). Download and run it.

To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double
click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

Important Note: You might want to copy the instructions given at that website to a word or text document or save the webpage for reference. To fix the problem you'll need to access the Windows Registry Editor and then check and alter either one or two Windows Registry keys. Anytime you alter the registry is a very tricky business so be very careful when doing this. You must follow the steps exactly!

Question:

Since jiml100 is running XP, won't these values appear in msconfig? Just curious, as it may be a safer alternative to editing the registry....not that a VBScript would ahve any problems doing that!
