Afriend of mine has a system that got a new MB installed a few weeks ago and now automaticly starts it's self from a powered off state at midnight every day unless she is already useing it. I suspect this is an autostart timer set in the BIOS but have not been able to locate the proper manual for it from Micro Star or AMI.
It's a bit hard for me to trouble shoot it since she is in Georgia and I am in Califorina. What I was trying to find is the setup manual for this BIOS so I could walk her thru the setup to clear this. The system info is listed below.

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
    Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600
    OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
    System Name LOWERY
    System Manufacturer MICRO-STAR INTERANTONAL CO.,LTD
    System Model MS-7536
    System Type X86-based PC
    Processor Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.93GHz x86 Family 15 Model 3 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~2933 Mhz
    BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. V1.0, 4/22/2008
    SMBIOS Version 2.5

Thanks for any and all help.

The 'real' model number for the MS-7536 is actually 945GCM478. You can download the manual from this link. All the drivers and BIOS updates are available from the same link, just click the appropriate tab.

(And yes, there is a power-on feature somewhere in the BIOS that is turning the PC on; I would think resetting to defaults would disable it, but maybe it is actually enabled by default; it would be weird if it was, but weirder things have happened ;) )

The MB manual is great to have but does anyone know where to get the full guide for thr BIOS.

Hello racer2007, have you tried the Manufacturer of the computer? For instance, Dell, HP, etc.. You should be able to go to their website and find the info on BIOS guide you are looking for.. ;)

Honestly, I have never seen a "full" guide to any BIOS, ever. The motherboard makers never spell out every option available on every page in the BIOS. Yeah, I know, they should, but they don't. All I can suggest is to simply go through each and every page in the BIOS until you see the setting you need. Obviously, it will probably be in the 'Power Management' section, but may also be in one of the 'Advanced Settings' pages too.... good luck!

I have a computer that turned on at 9pm every night. Simple solution, hook it up to a power strip. When it is shut down, it is completely shut down.
