System defender, 6/2008

First of all, i am semi computer-illiterate, so please forgive me. I was in Costa Rica doing student teaching and my symantec antivirus managed to keep out the MIllions of viruses from my computer, but as soon as i got back to the wonderful US, system defender found me! I tried reading other threads and of course immediately, my log files come up differently. i dloaded mgtools and avenger. However, as soon as i run mgtools scan, the results only have one line in common with your provided quote box. the HKCU\..run:...... only has something to do with dell tuneup, the oly one i had was "020-applint_dlls:cru62.."and one i hit the fix button, i have no bold text from which to copy. NOt sure what to do here. where is the text? where are the quotes that i am supposed to have? I have also noticed that when i run explorer without addons, (in the system tools menu) that I dont have the problem with system defender, does that have anything to do with anything? someone please help!? Please go through the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST and attach the requested logs. This will be easier in the long run than trying to work from other people's logs because it will give an accurate picture of what's going on with your computer. If there are things you aren't able to do, make a note of them and let us know when you attach those requested logs you are able to get.
