Abri helped me last time and did a good job, thank you for taking the time to help me.

Posting early for several reasons. system T23 1gig mem W2K

Using a SSD (6gig), cloned from HDD(30gig). The original XP was too large for the drive so XXclone was very useful. After trying transfer of XP to HDD and setting 2nd partition as primary, XP worked fine. Until update, which shut down the entire OS. Content w/ W2K, it recently started freezing w/o explanation. Even used process explorer to explain, but to no avail. When it freezes, the I/O light on the Ether card cont to flash, as well as link on Wifi if using it instead (ext card). I have read Pirates of the Digital Millinium and do not expect a "free ride" when it comes to an OS. But I did pay for the original copy installed on my LT, and would like it accessable via HDD as a back up OS. After resetting 1st partition(HDD) to primary (W2K), the same problem occurred as w/ the SSD. It is most notable when opening Full Tilt (poker) as it takes a minute or so before it will allow me to type in my password. After which it will run, but the problem will come back intermitantly. I noticed the HDD will spin when the problem occurs, but the LED indicator doesn't come on w/ the SSD (it still indicates drive activity). Also the problem is shorter w/ the SSD, I assume due to faster access. One of my fellow blogers stated that ning has infected him several times. When downloading the diagnostic software the RootRepeal site gave a "too busy" statement each time.

I have the ultrabay HDD tray, which I used to clone w/. Ran MGtools on SSD 1st due to possible interfe w/ AV. Ran the AV on HDD w/o infection detection (advertisment cookies were the only thing detected).

Will run other diag sw and send report v soon. I can't have system freeze in the middle of a poker hand, it will time me out, and cost me money.

PS, couldn't uninstall sun java. Spybot isn't used anymore?

Hope this doesn't count as a bump.

Should have stated system as Thinkpad, and cursor moves freely upon freeze.

The following are requested logs. Combofix was used last time in my solution, they have a donation key. I would like to show my appreciation by a contribution, not one to expect a free ride. Is there one for MG? The repair shop is time consuming and expensive, I like learning as well. I noticed RootRepeal showed one hidden file locked, but I am sure it is in the log.

    Have I missed anything?

You have very little room on this drive. But you do not have any malware. I suggest that you clean out these two folders:
    C:\WINNT\Temp\
    C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp\

You need to post in the software forum for additional advice.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real-time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
