System Has Recovered From Serious Error!

I have a Gateway with Windows XP. When I hit my enter button to bring show my desktop after it was sitting there, it restarted. It said system has recovered from a serious error. The info was C:\Docume~1Owner\Locals~\Temp\WERc549.dir00\mini\22405.01

C:\Docume~1Owner\Locals~1\WERc549.dir00\Sysdate.xml

What is that and should I be worried?

I tried to download this, first time I got kicked off of aol during it. AOL said it had to fix my AOL adapter. I did that. I tried to download the system has recovered from a serious error update and got throught the whole thing.
Then this came up:

Setup has detected that the service pack version of the system installed is newe than the update you are applying to it. You can only install yhis update on a computer with no service packs installed.

So should I try the second solution you gave me. I have SP2 and this update was for SP1.
