System started locking up and rebooting during the night when the virus scan runs. Tried Malwarebytes and it also locks up on a full scan. Qucik scan works fine. Superantispyware will not complete a scan and locks up on a file "OPENOFFICEORG 3\BASIS\bf_xomi.dll" Unable to get Superantispyware log. Rootrepeal also would not fininsh scanning. An error box popped up. Available scans are attached. Looking to see if my PC is infected. Other than the lockups during a scan, the system seems to run fine and is not sluggish. Also tried several online scanners before I tried Major Geeks and they also lock up during scans. Thanks

You did not attach anything. Lockups like you mention can sometimes be due to registry or file system corruption. Without seeing some logs, we cannot say. Did you get MGtools and ComboFix to run?

Oops, I thought I attached files the first time. The ones that would run are now attached. The system locked up again last night. When I hovered the cursor over the Kaspersky icon in the taskbar it said it was updating but it was not. I have to do a hard shutdown when this happens. If you do not find anything in the available logs I may delete and reinstall Kaspersky. Thanks

Your logs are clean. I suggest that you check in the Software Forum for additional help. You may need to check for hard disk problems or system file corruption.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Chaslang,

You are correct. I found the problem. It was a hard drive problem. I ran chkdsk /r and it identified two "bad clusters" and I assume it repaired or moved the files. The names of the files were the exact same files that was locking the system when a scan would run. Thanks for reviewing the logs and all of your help. I have completed all of the previous suggested actions and all is good again. Thanks again.
