System lockups

I've been trying to troubleshoot a system lockup problem I've had for quite sometime now. I have replaced many of my system components in the process of hunting this thing down with no luck. The problem primarily occurs while running my tv tuner card. I can sometimes run the tv for hours, other times minutes before a complete freeze. Since the problem originally manifested, I have switched video cards, ram, hard drive, reformat with different OS (from xp pro to x64), bought a new tv tuner with hardware decoding, and most recently, upgraded the power supply to an antec true power. With the new Hauppauge card, the lockups are more frequent than with the old ati tv wonder ve. I dont tend to use junk parts in my system, but something is causing this and my new tv tuner is garbage with the crashes since I bought it for the PVR capabilities.

Also, I have no freezes or problems running higher end games like BF2, CoH, etc.

I do not want to do a cpu/mobo upgrade unless I have exhausted every other resource because I dont think it's worth the upgrade right now unless I go with PCIE, new ram, etc.
