    Hey guys,

I have a quick question. When I clean a customers hard drive of viruses and spyware I usually pull their hard drive and connect it to my pc. I then run my cleaning tools off my local hard drive. My question is, Is it necessary to turn off System Restore on the customers computer from within Windows before pulling the hard drive? Does the anti virus program have any trouble cleaning viruses in the System Restore section of the hard drive with this setup?

    Thanks for all the help!

That could potentially be risky and in reality not required to clean a computer. If you literally remove the drive and connect it as a slave nothing will be running therefore you can scan/remove anything on the drive.

SR needs to be toggled once you're done cleaning the malware simply to flush out any bad restore points.
