I have tried to restore my system using several different restore points. Each system restore is unsuccessful. Any know what could the reason could be? the message I received is : an unspecified error occured during system restore.

try entering safe mode and logon as administrator you can enter safe mode by tapping F8 when you first start the computer this will give you the advanced options. then try the system restore function.

This is a very common occurrence, caused I believe, by corruption of the system restore points. When one is corrupted, then it seems all following restore points that are created are also corrupt. It is usually easily rectified by turning System Restore OFF (this removes ALL restore points), re-booting the system, and then turning System Restore ON again.

Then System Restore should be functioning properly again.
