System Restore

    When I try useing system restore it goes through the motions but always comes back that the system cannot be restored to that date and to try another date. Same thing no matter what date I use. The restore bar comes on but the blue bar moves across it very rapidly. I'm useing Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

    Another question is I have a scrolling bar about 3/4 across on my desktop. How do I get it to leave? Thanks a lot

    Did you try system restore in safe mode?

    I had the same problem a while back and it restored ok that way.
