System Restore

OS is XP Pro, SP3. I am trying to do a system restore but with the 6 dates I've selected, I get the message "Restoration Incomplete". The dates range from 2 days ago to a month ago. I can't seem to find much info on this and any help would be appreciated.

 

Might have to disable antivirus and/or firewall.
BEWARE!!!! Please disconnect from internet before disabling, and remember to enable both before reconnecting.

 

I have found that since installing SP3 my XP often refuses to restore from within windows. But if you go into Safe Mode (F8 during boot) there is a point just before it opens the desktop it asks do you really want Safe mode or would you rather use Sytem Restore. Use that and you should be ok. If that will not work then your restore points have become corrupted, either by an infection, thru a powerfailure or something messed with them like a cleanup utility or something of that sort. Trojans and virus's are notorious for messing with Sytem Restore to prevent you from getting rid of them.
