System Security 2009

    I found myself infected by this piece of malaware after foolishly trying to watch a football match on a p2p site. Never again! I've serached through the forums and clearly I'm not the only one to encounter this problem. I've read through the "Read this.." section but not yet done anything. Most of the threads make reference to "logs" and have obviously sent some details to you guys. This is all new to me. If I follow all the steps in the Read and Run me first guide, what do I do then? At the moment I only seem to be able to work in Safe Mode.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    The READ & RUN ME tells you exactly what steps to take from beginning to end. You just need to follow them in the order written. Also has noted in those instructions, it is very important not to stop just because some partiular step does not work. You MUST keep on going and try all steps even if you have to run in safe boot mode and even if you need to download files to another PC first and then transfer to this PC. We need logs to properly access what you problems are. Guessing can lead to bigger problems.
