System Standby Failed

    I got this error when on my laptop when opening it this morning..

    The service 'Microsoft .NET Framework v1.14322 Update' is preventing the machine from entering standby. Try stopping this service and try again.

    How does one go about stopping services that one doesn't know the first thing about o.o!

    Oh right OS and such..
    Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600

    Sounds like you were just getting the MS Updater service for this month's MS updates if it only happened once..............Task Manager will stop your Program Hope that Helps

    The updater is done but the error still comes up. What would the program be called?
