I just finished reformatting my machine and when I run a full scan with Avast it see this in the logs "C:\System Volume Information [E] Access is denied". Doesn't Avast scan this folder? I actually get the same messege when I try and open the Sys Vol Info folder as well (double clicking on it)... As far I as I can remember I should have access to opening this folder... Any ideas?

XP does not allow write access to that folder for AVs.

That's why if you discover you have a virus you need to dump your restore points to prevent reinfection.
